Brett Bade, MD

Lung Cancer Section Vice-Chair
CHEST member since 2013

September 4, 2024

Where do you work?
Northwell Health, Lenox Hill, and Long Island Jewish Hospitals.

What are your research interests?
Lung cancer screening, lung cancer survivorship, cancer treatment-related pneumonitis, pulmonary rehabilitation, and lung nodule evaluation and management.

What led you to join your Network?
My mentor.

What achievements are you most proud of contributing to within your Network?
Creation and participation in the Lung Cancer Section of the Thoracic Oncology and Chest Procedures Network. My interests in lung cancer prevention and survivorship align best with this group.

How has being in a Network benefited your career and your experience as a CHEST member?
Working with the Network has had multiple benefits, including:

  • Meeting and working with field leaders (whose work I had only read previously!)
  • Networking with both early career faculty (with similar interests and ideas) and fostering mentorship from established clinicians and researchers outside my own institution
  • Idea generation for research and clinical projects

What are your hobbies?
Running, playing with my dog, woodworking, chess, and anything with a deck of cards.

What is something you cannot live without (after family and friends)?
My dog (Luke).

Is there anything else you’d like to share with your Network peers?
Feel free to reach out.
