Quality improvement grant opportunity available through CHEST
July 28, 2023
Glenview, Illinois – The American College of Chest Physicians (CHEST)
invites applicants to submit proposals for deploying a quality
improvement (QI) demonstration project in support of the goals
of Bridging Specialties™: Timely Diagnosis for ILD. Launched in collaboration
with Three Lakes Foundation, the Bridging Specialties initiative aims to
reduce time to diagnosis for patients with interstitial lung disease
(ILD) such as pulmonary fibrosis.
Interested applicants should provide a proposal that aims to assess the
efficacy of the resources available through the Bridging Specialties
project and to operationalize their use in practice settings and collect
outcomes to evaluate impact. Up to two grants of $150,000 each will be
distributed.
The application contains prompts including but not limited to:
-
Describe a plan for implementing toolkit/resources in
practice.
-
Describe gaps that will be addressed through implementation
of toolkit/resources in practice.
-
Describe the process for outcomes data, including approach,
methodology, analysis and reporting.
-
Describe the impact the proposed QI project will have on
improving health outcomes for historically marginalized
populations.
“Bridging Specialties is focused on bringing together experts with a
shared goal from different fields to work together to affect
practice,” says William Lago, MD, Family Medicine Physician at the
Cleveland Clinic in Wooster, Ohio, and member of the Bridging
Specialties steering committee. “By sourcing for proposals on how to
implement what our committee created, we’re welcoming more people
and more ideas to reach our collective goal of reducing the time to
diagnosis for ILD.”
The resources created by the
steering committee, comprised of leading pulmonologists and family physicians, are part of
an
educational toolkit
including e-learning modules, a downloadable patient questionnaire,
interactive decision-making tools and more.
