This open-access publishing model expands access to cutting-edge research and is integral to promoting transparency, inclusiveness, and collaboration in science. In partnership with Elsevier, our publishing partner, CHEST is committed to promoting open science and keeping pace with evolving open-access policies.

As part of this model, authors who publish in CHEST Pulmonary and CHEST Critical Care will be asked to pay an article publishing charge.

The editors of CHEST journals are committed to publishing all high-quality content that aligns with the aims and scope of our publications. The editors will never make the decision to accept or reject a paper based on an author’s ability to pay article publishing charges. Payment information is handled after acceptance by Elsevier and is never visible or accessible to editors during the peer review or decision process.
