Where do you work?
Harbor-UCLA Medical Center
What are your research interests?
I am interested in applications of pulmonary function testing and cardiopulmonary exercise testing to better understand and treat shortness of breath and cardiopulmonary diseases.
How did you become interested and involved in CHEST's Networks?
I became interested as a fellow when I joined the Pulmonary Physiology, Function, and Rehabilitation NetWork (now the Pulmonary Physiology and Rehabilitation Section) and loved learning from and working with colleagues who had similar interests.
Are you involved in any other activities or volunteer positions at CHEST?
I am the current Vice-Chair of the Pulmonary Physiology and Rehabilitation Section and a member of the Pulmonary Rehabilitation Work Group as part of health policy and advocacy.
What clinical research is most interesting to you right now?
Pulmonary hypertension research is most interesting to me right now.
What are your hobbies?
I enjoy running and hiking, visiting national parks, reading, and soccer (mostly watching these days).
What is something you cannot live without (after family and friends)?
Italian food, Mexican food, and probably iced coffee.
