Where do you work?
I am a Professor of Medicine, Division of Pulmonary, Critical Care, Allergy and Sleep Medicine, at the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston, South Carolina.
What are your research interests and how does this apply to your position within the Networks?
Cognitive impairment in OSA.
How did you become interested and involved in CHEST's Networks?
I have been involved with CHEST since I was a fellow and found this a good way to network with colleagues and contribute to CHEST’s mission in education, research, and clinical practice.
Are you involved in any other activities or volunteer positions at CHEST?
Yes, I present at the CHEST Annual Meeting regularly, grade abstracts, moderate sessions, and have been part of focus groups. I am also currently the Chair of the Nonrespiratory Sleep Section and am on some other CHEST committees as well.
What clinical research is most interesting to you right now?
Anything related to sleep disorders, but specifically cognition and OSA.
What are your hobbies?
Watching Bollywood movies, tennis and cricket, and traveling.
What is something you cannot live without (after family and friends)?
Authentic Indian food.
Is there anything else you’d like to share with your Network peers?
I would encourage everyone to get involved with CHEST Networks; it’s a great way to grow professionally.
